The Vandegrift Vipers will be playing at home against the Round Rock Westwood Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Round Rock Westwood took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Vandegrift, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Vandegrift didn't have too much trouble with Vista Ridge on the road as they won 45-26. Given Vandegrift's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Vista Ridge is ranked 588th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Round Rock Westwood's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 65-47 bruising from Stony Point. Round Rock Westwood has not had much luck with Stony Point recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Vandegrift is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Round Rock Westwood, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.
Vandegrift lost to Round Rock Westwood at home by a decisive 56-41 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Vandegrift avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
