Softball Recap: Quincy Wins Going Away Against Plumas Charter

Quincy barely beat Plumas Charter the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 17-7 victory on Friday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Brooke Blesse was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Goulet, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Quincy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Quincy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Plumas Charter, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13-1.

Looking ahead, Quincy will venture away from home to challenge Portola at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season. As for Plumas Charter, they will welcome Princeton at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.06 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
