Basketball Recap: Belleville West Comes Up Short

If Belleville West was feeling good fresh off their 69-41 takedown of McCluer last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Belleville West Maroons took a 58-43 bruising from the Belleville East Lancers on Tuesday. The Maroons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Belleville West has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Belleville East, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-6.

Belleville West will be playing at home against Collinsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Collinsville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season. Belleville East has already played their next matchup (against Granite City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
