Volleyball Recap: Divine Savior Academy Starts off Right with Win over Gulliver Prep

Divine Savior Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Gulliver Prep Raiders 3-0. The Sharks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders, too.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 27-25, 25-22.

Mia Lavalle and Daniela Torre Blanes certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Lavalle had 12 digs and two assists, while Torre Blanes had 12 assists and three digs. Lavalle has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Looking ahead, Divine Savior Academy will face off against Ransom Everglades at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gulliver Prep, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Archbishop McCarthy at 6:00 p.m. on September 3.
