Basketball Game Preview: Cascade Champions vs. Grundy County Yellowjackets

The Cascade Champions will face off against the Grundy County Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cascade is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 72-12 win over Mt. Pleasant. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Champions considering their 22-point performance the match before.

Kaegan Young was nothing short of spectacular: she posted 24 points. Jade Tolar was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Grundy County hadn't done well against Community recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Friday. Grundy County walked away with a 53-44 victory over Community. The win continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Vikings/Viqueens: they've now won three in a row.

Grundy County pushed their record up to 10-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points over those games. As for Cascade, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-12 record this season.

Everything went Cascade's way against Grundy County in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Cascade made off with a 55-29 win. In that game, Cascade amassed a halftime lead of 32-8, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
