Preview: Mitchell Mustangs vs. Palmetto Tigers

The Mitchell Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Palmetto Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mitchell has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with eight, while Palmetto will come in with three straight victories.

Mitchell lost a close one when they played on Friday but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Wednesday was a bit more commanding. Their rough 22-2 defeat to Jesuit might stick with them for a while.

Meanwhile, Palmetto scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Bradenton Christian 13-3. Palmetto might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Clayton Williams looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (he also didn't allow any walks).

At the plate, Hunter Sisk was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, a run, and a double. Danathan Sanchez was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all two of his plate appearances.

Mitchell's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Palmetto, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Mitchell beat Palmetto 5-0 in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mitchell since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
