Softball Recap: W.S. Neal Comes Up Short

W.S. Neal was the 11-9 winner over Flomaton when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The W.S. Neal Eagles fell 14-10 to the Flomaton Hurricanes on Thursday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dashya Montgomery was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Stuckey, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

W.S. Neal's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Flomaton, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. W.S. Neal will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Blacksher at 7:00 p.m. on April 1st. Flomaton also won't see the field for a while: their next game is against Mobile Christian at 7:00 p.m. on April 1st.
