Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only East Webster walked away with it. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Yazoo County Panthers on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolverines, who have now won seven matches in a row.

Paytan Sanders spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Faith Edwards and Larkin Conner did most of the damage at the plate: Edwards went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Conner went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles Conner has posted since back in March.

East Webster's win bumped their record up to 21-11. As for Yazoo County, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-6.

East Webster will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Friday.
