Baseball Game Preview: Capuchino Mustangs vs. Branham Bruins

The Capuchino Mustangs will face off against the Branham Bruins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Capuchino had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Palo Alto on Monday. Capuchino blew past Palo Alto 15-9. The Mustangs not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 28th.

Travis Ciardella was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Bryce Brooks was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Capuchino was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Branham). They put the hurt on Live Oak with a sharp 13-1 win on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Bruins, who have now won three games in a row.

Capuchino's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Branham, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
