Baseball Recap: Chiles Has No Trouble Against Nease

While Chiles put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Nease. Chiles was the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Nease. This was a revenge game for the Timberwolves: when they faced off against the Panthers on Saturday, they had to take a 9-4 loss.

Alex Haine looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, Tyler Correa was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Chiles: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Colby Tadder, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Chiles was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Chiles is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. Nease has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chiles will face off against Wakulla at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Nease, they will be playing at home against Suncoast at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
