Omaha Nation had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down the Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars 56-42 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Chiefs in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Omaha Nation to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dason Romo, who went 8-for-17 to rack up 20 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kane Sheridan, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.

Omaha Nation was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lyons-Decatur Northeast only posted four.

When it comes to explaining why Lyons-Decatur Northeast lost, don't look at Kaden Knaak. Despite the final result, he shot 50% from the field on his way to 23 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Elijah Schlichting, who posted eight points and six boards.

Omaha Nation wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 74-14 win against Santee on the 5th. As for Lyons-Decatur Northeast, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-27 victory against Homer on the 6th.
