For the second straight game, Surry Central will face off against Forbush. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Surry Central Golden Eagles face off against Forbush Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Surry Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Surry Central is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Forbush just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 5-0 to the Falcons. The match marked the first time this year in which the Golden Eagles were not able to get on the board.

For Forbush's part, the result came thanks to Hunter Conrad's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 14 Ks. Conrad has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Colton Moxley was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Bo Moxley also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Forbush has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. Surry Central's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-2.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Surry Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Forbush struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.4 strikeouts.
