Softball Recap: Holmes County Comes Up Short

The Holmes County Blue Devils might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 6-2 to the Opp Bobcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Savannah Ludwig was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Holmes County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacee Bowers, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Holmes County's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Opp, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-9 record this season.

Holmes County will host Destin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Opp does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
