Baseball Recap: Hebron Find Success

Hebron barely beat Whiting the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks' pitchers stepped up to hand the Oilers an 8-0 shutout on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Oilers: they've now won three in a row.

Pete Socci was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. He also put up two RBI, which were his first of the season. Travis DePra was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Hebron now has a winning record of 2-1-1. As for Whiting, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hebron will venture away from home to face off against Hammond Academy of Science & Tech at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Whiting, they will head out to take on Lake Station Edison at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The match will give the Oilers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
