Soccer Game Preview: Auburn vs. Kennedy Catholic

Auburn is 0-4 against Kennedy Catholic since May of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. Auburn will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Kennedy Catholic at 6:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Auburn fell victim to Auburn Riverside and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ravens. That's two games in a row now that Auburn have lost by exactly two goals.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Kennedy Catholic and Mt. Rainier, and Mt. Rainier kept the tradition alive. Kennedy Catholic fell just short of Mt. Rainier by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday.

Kennedy Catholic now has a losing record of 1-2-2. As for Auburn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Auburn came up short against Kennedy Catholic when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Auburn avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
