 Carlinville scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Friday. They won by a  run and slipped past the Pana Panthers  10-9. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Carlinville also won the last time the pair played  back in May of 2023.
  Noah Byots made a splash while hitting and pitching. He  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. Byots was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs while going 1-for-2.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Camden Naugle, who  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI.
 On Pana's side,  Madyx Angel made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run and  stole three bases while going 2-for-5. Angel is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  stolen  at least one in the last four games he's  played.  Ryan Karbach was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-5.
 Carlinville's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Pana, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
 Carlinville will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenville at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Pana, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Arthur-Okaw Christian at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Pana is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7  runs per game this season.
