Kendrick was sadly handed a defeat on Monday, but Hudson Kirkland did his best to prevent it. Kirkland was unstoppable, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.
