Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coleman). They walked away with a 72-63 victory over the Merrill Vandals on Friday. That's two games straight that the Comets have won by exactly nine points.

Coleman has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Merrill, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Coleman will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bullock Creek at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. After both having extra time off, Merrill and Carson City-Crystal will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Merrill is facing Carson City-Crystal at the right time seeing as Carson City-Crystal is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
