Baseball Recap: Kalkaska Comes Up Short

Kalkaska lost against Kingsley back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Blazers fell just short of the Stags by a score of 6-5. The Blazers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Hunter Wilkinson and Zach Porter did some serious damage despite the final result: Wilkinson went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one double, while Porter went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Those RBI marked the first that Porter has brought in this season.

Kalkaska's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Kingsley, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kalkaska will square off against Grayling at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Kingsley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gladstone at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
