Preview: Savannah vs. St. Pius X
Savannah will look to defend their home turf on Friday against St. Pius X at 7:00 PM. Savannah have the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency.
Savannah came into their this week averaging 51.43 points per game, but Savannah fell well short of that average, and it cost them. They have to be aching after a bruising 7-41 loss to Maryville last Friday. The low total for Savannah limited their streak of high-flying scores to five in a row.
Meanwhile, St. Pius X might be getting used to good results now that the squad has four wins in a row. They were fully in charge, breezing past Crystal City 46-8. The lopsided score is just par for the course this season for St. Pius X, who can brag about six blowout wins.
St. Pius X's win lifted them to 7-1 while Savannah's defeat dropped them down to 5-3. We'll see if St. Pius X's success rolls on or if Savannah are able to steal their positive momentum.
