Basketball Game Preview: Greer Middle College Blazers vs. Brashier Middle College Charter Bengal

The Greer Middle College Blazers will head out to square off against the Brashier Middle College Charter Bengal at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Greer Middle College has three straight victories, Brashier Middle College Charter has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Monday, Greer Middle College made easy work of Spartanburg Christian Academy and carried off a 64-41 win. Given the Blazers' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Warriors are ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 86-29, which was the final score in Brashier Middle College Charter's tilt against High Point Academy on Tuesday. The game marked the Bengal's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Greer Middle College has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Brashier Middle College Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Greer Middle College skirted past Brashier Middle College Charter 51-49 in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Brashier Middle College Charter's Sam Stein, who posted 27 points.
