Football Recap: Romeoville Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Joliet Central last Friday, Romeoville came back down to earth. The matchup between the Spartans and the Plainfield East Bengals didn't end well, with the Spartans falling 30-13. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Despite the loss, Romeoville still got an impressive performance from Richard Conley, who rushed for 46 yards and two scores, and also threw for 143 yards on nine of 20 attempts.

David Croom was his usual excellent self, rushing for 222 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Plainfield East. Those 222 rushing yards gave Croom a new career-high.

Romeoville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Plainfield East, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
