Baseball Recap: Magnolia Comes Up Short

Magnolia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 13-3 to the Wirt County Tigers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 on Wednesday.

Magnolia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Finn Loy, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Loy has become a key player for the Blue Eagles: the team is 7-3 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-13 otherwise.

Magnolia's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Wirt County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.

Magnolia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wirt County, they will square off against Webster County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Highlanders have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
