Baseball Recap: Ryan Fitzhugh Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Wilcox

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Homestead, Gunn was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wilcox Chargers a 5-0 shutout. While the Titans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Cyrus Silva Rezvani made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Silva Rezvani was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Silva Rezvani wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Fitzhugh, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that Fitzhugh snagged this season.

Gunn's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Wilcox, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Gunn will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
