Softball Recap: Resurrection Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Resurrection had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They never let the Ridgewood Rebels get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Bandits might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Elizabeth Dorgan made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Alaina Pilas was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Reichenberger, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Resurrection hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Resurrection has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Ridgewood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Resurrection nor Ridgewood have any future games scheduled.
