Buckley and Brethren are an even 4-4-1 against one another since August of 2015, but not for long. The Bears will take on the Bobcats at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Buckley has seven straight wins, Brethren has 11 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Buckley will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Frankfort, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bears put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Buckley's got stronger as the match went on, holding Frankfort to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Brethren came up short against Suttons Bay on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Brethren's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Buckley, their win bumped their record up to 16-5-1.

Buckley took their victory against Brethren when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bobcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
