Basketball Game Preview: Hundred Hornets vs. Paden City Wildcats

The Hundred Hornets will square off against the Paden City Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hundred knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Paden City likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Hundred was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 74-70 to Magnolia. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (67), the Hornets still had to take the loss.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Colt Sandy, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 16 boards. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Huggins, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Hundred smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Paden City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against Trinity Christian, falling 73-25. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-15.

Paden City's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Hundred, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Hundred took their victory against Paden City in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 75-50. In that game, Hundred amassed a halftime lead of 38-16, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
