Baseball Recap: Pine Creek Triumphs

Pine Creek won the last time they faced Pueblo West and things went their way on Thursday too. The Eagles came out on top against the Cyclones by a score of 6-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Kyle McDonnell made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. McDonnell was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, Jake Holm was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tristan Mullis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Pine Creek's record now sits at 7-3. As for Pueblo West, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Coming up, Pine Creek will challenge Lewis-Palmer at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rangers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.33 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Pueblo West, they will square off against Vista Ridge at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
