Softball Recap: Gunn Triumphs

Gunn posted their closest victory since April 29, 2025 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the MacDonald Condor, sneaking past 7-6. While the Titans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Allison Novick was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Emilia James was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Gunn pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for MacDonald, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Gunn will head out on the road to face off against Fremont at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Firebirds have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for MacDonald, they will face off against Palo Alto at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 1.1 runs per game this season, so the Condor's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
