Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Cheyenne Mountain's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Cheyenne Mountain won the last time they faced Lutheran, and Ezra Sanchez did his part to make sure it happened again. The Red-Tailed Hawks put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 3-0 victory on Saturday thanks in part to Sanchez, who had 16 digs and four assists. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 11 or more in each of the last 11 games he's played.

Cheyenne Mountain got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 30-28, 25-15, 25-17.

Cheyenne Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Looking ahead, Cheyenne Mountain will head out on the road to take on Discovery Canyon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Thunder will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Red-Tailed Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lutheran, they will be playing at home against Pueblo South at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
