Baseball Game Preview: Pennridge Rams vs. North Penn Knights

Pennridge hasn't had much luck against North Penn recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rams will take on the Knights at 4:00 p.m.

Pennridge is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Central Bucks South.

Pennridge got a good showing from Anthony Cox, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cox has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Antonio Lillo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one run. Those doubles were his first of the season. Zach Swanson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, North Penn faced Central Bucks West in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Knights came out on top against the Bucks by a score of 8-3. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Bucks: they've now won five in a row.

North Penn's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Pennridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Pennridge couldn't quite get it done against North Penn when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-3. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
