Eagle is 9-1 against Boise since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Brave. Eagle will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Eagle is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Ridgevue, who was ranked 20th at the time (Eagle was ranked fourth). The Mustangs put the hurt on the Warhawks with a sharp 10-3 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Carson Bowers looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sam Palfreyman and Dallin Snooks did most of the damage at the plate: Palfreyman went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI, while Snooks went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two runs gave Palfreyman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brayden Lame, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Boise walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Grizzlies on Saturday, sneaking past 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Brave.
Brennan Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Boise is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 9-13 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Brody Newbery was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Boise's victory bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Eagle, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.
Eagle got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against Boise by a conclusive 19-6 score. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Brave turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
