Cypress Bay's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They strolled past the Piper Bengals with points to spare, taking the game 68-54. The victory continues a trend for the Lightning in their matchups with the Bengals: they've now won four in a row.

Several Bengals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was LaDanian Mckenzie, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Monestime, who posted 13 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Cypress Bay's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Piper, they moved to 4-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Cypress Bay will take on Boyd-Buchanan in a tournament on Thursday. The Lightning will need to watch out since the Buccaneers have now posted at least 55 points in their last six contests. As for Piper, they will be home for the holidays to greet McArthur at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
