Softball Recap: Temple Christian Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Temple Christian challenged Oakridge on Friday. The Temple Christian Eagles lost 16-9 to the Oakridge Owls. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Owls apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Audri Rangel and Madison Joyce did some serious damage despite the final result: Rangel scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Joyce scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Joyce a new career-high in RBI (three). Kendyl Abernathy was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Temple Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Temple Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lubbock Christian at 5:00 p.m. on April 11th. Oakridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
