Softball Game Preview: Masuk Panthers vs. Waterford Lancers

Masuk is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while Waterford is on a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Panthers will host the Lancers at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Masuk is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They beat St. Joseph by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Cadets: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Waterford faced Ellington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Lancers never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. That's two games straight that the Lancers have won by just one run.

Masuk's victory bumped their record up to 27-1-1. As for Waterford, their win bumped their record up to 20-4.

Masuk skirted past Waterford 2-0 when the teams last played back in May. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
