Recap: Pine Raiders vs. Phoenix Spartans
The Pine Raiders won against the Phoenix Spartans on Friday with 77 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Pine took down Phoenix 77-58. That's two games straight that Pine has won by exactly 19 points.
Despite the loss, Phoenix saw an underclassman step up: RONDELL BATTLE scored 36 points. BATTLE scored a full 62.1% of Phoenix's points, the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of DERVONTE ANCAR, who scored 14 points.
Pine's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Phoenix, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.
Pine won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Salmen at 2:00 p.m. on December 30, 2023. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Louisiana (Salmen is ranked 194th, while Pine is ranked 209th). As for Phoenix, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
