Softball Recap: Hamilton County Gets the Win

Hamilton County's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Edwards County Lions. The Foxes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Rayci Phelps spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Hamilton County let Saylor Brown and Colebie Miller run wild. Brown went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Miller went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave Miller a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylah Parkhill, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The victory got Hamilton County back to even at 10-10. As for Edwards County, the loss snapped their winning streak at 12 games and leaves them with a 12-2 record.

Hamilton County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-6 win against Woodlawn on the 23rd. Hopefully Edwards County paid attention to the Foxes' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Foxes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
