Softball Recap: Krum Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Krum nor Van Alstyne made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Bobcats fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 6-5. The Bobcats' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Addison Martindale spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Taylor Fauver was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Jazmine Jackson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Krum's loss dropped their record down to 22-4. As for Van Alstyne, they pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
