Football Recap: Shane Zoberg Leads Stoneman Douglas' Defense on Thursday

After losing to Coral Springs Charter the last time they met, Stoneman Douglas decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles blew past the Panthers 28-6 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Stoneman Douglas didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Shane Zoberg, Max Troy, and Jonah Lenamon picked up one apiece. Zoberg also made four total tackles, which is notable because Stoneman Douglas is 4-2 when he posts at least three total tackles, but 0-3 otherwise. Zoberg got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Stoneman Douglas' victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Coral Springs Charter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Looking ahead, Stoneman Douglas will face off against Coconut Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars' defense has only allowed 11.4 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them. Coral Springs Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
