Baseball Recap: Whitmire Takes a Loss

If Whitmire was riding high fresh off their 12-2 takedown of GREEN Upstate last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolverines fell just short of the Owls by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Wolverines were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Owls earlier this season, when they won 12-2.

Whitmire saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brian Steele, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Whitmire has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. GREEN Upstate's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitmire will take on Calhoun Falls Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for GREEN Upstate, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ware Shoals at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th.
