Basketball Game Preview: Etowah Eagles vs. Marietta Blue Devils

The Etowah Eagles will head out to challenge the Marietta Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Etowah knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Marietta likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Etowah against North Paulding as the squad secured an 84-53 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marietta). They took down North Paulding 77-60 on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Blue Devils as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Etowah is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.2 points per game. As for Marietta, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 11-12.

Everything came up roses for Etowah against Marietta in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 67-35 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Etowah since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
