Alcester-Hudson scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 80-72 to the Freeman Flyers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (61), the Cubs still had to take the loss.

Freeman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tate Sorensen led the charge by going 11 of 15 to rack up 29 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Sorensen a new career-high in points. David Walter was another key player, going 8 for 12 en route to 20 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Alcester-Hudson's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Freeman, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alcester-Hudson will face off against Beresford at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece. As for Freeman, they will take on Hanson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Freeman knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matches -- so hopefully Hanson likes a good challenge.
