Baseball Recap: Gallatin County Has No Trouble Against Norris City-Omaha-Enfield

Gallatin County won the last time they faced Norris City-Omaha-Enfield and things went their way on Tuesday too. Gallatin County blew past Norris City-Omaha-Enfield 12-5.

Talan Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Smith was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Gallatin County let Casen Steele and Owen Wargel run wild. Steele went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI, while Wargel scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those three runs gave Wargel a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grant Jackson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The win got Gallatin County back to even at 2-2. As for Norris City-Omaha-Enfield, their record now sits at 0-2.

The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Gallatin County 3.5, Galatia/Thompsonville 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
