Brookland-Cayce has gone a perfect 3-0 against Gray Collegiate Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bearcats will host the War Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Brookland-Cayce has given up an average of 31.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Brookland-Cayce is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 35 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Midland Valley on Friday. They had to suffer through a 34-7 loss at the hands of the Mustangs. While the Bearcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs 7-0 in the first quarter.

Even if they lost, Brookland-Cayce's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Antwoine Lawson, Ja'Marion Griffin, and Avery King, who each picked up one sack apiece. Lawson was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Gray Collegiate Academy faced North Augusta in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The War Eagles strolled past the Yellow Jackets with points to spare, taking the game 41-27. The War Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Gray Collegiate Academy's win came from a few key players Brookland-Cayce will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Xavier Wright, who threw for 376 yards and five TDs while completing 73.9% of his passes. Corey Gleaton was Wright's top target, picking up 182 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Gray Collegiate Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Brookland-Cayce, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-4.
