Football Game Preview: Richmond Senior Raiders vs. Pinecrest Patriots

Richmond Senior is 8-2 against Pinecrest since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Raiders will host the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Richmond Senior sitting on six straight victories and Pinecrest on eight.

Richmond Senior is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Overhills: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Raiders blew the Jaguars out of the water with a 42-12 final score. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Richmond Senior didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ty Covington, Jermaine Bright, Domonic Tillman, and Demonte Martin picked up one apiece. Bright is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Pinecrest had just enough and edged out Hoke County 26-23 on Friday. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Bucks are ranked 161st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Richmond Senior better keep an eye on Chris Najm. He was instrumental in Pinecrest's win, rushing for 286 yards and four scores while picking up 7.7 yards per carry.

Pinecrest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 285 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Richmond Senior's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Pinecrest, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

Everything came up roses for Richmond Senior against Pinecrest when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 36-7 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Patriots' Zymire Spencer, who rushed for 154 yards.
