Volleyball Recap: Johnson Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Isaiah Patterson and Keegen Chew

After flying high against Fairfield last Thursday, Johnson came back down to earth. Johnson came up short against the Florin Panthers on Monday, falling 3-0. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

While Johnson ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-21, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, Johnson had strong showings from Keegen Chew, who had nine kills, four digs, and two aces, and Isaiah Patterson, who had seven kills. That's the most kills Chew has posted over his last eight matches.

Johnson moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Florin, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Johnson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Foothill on the 26th. As for Florin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Armijo on the 26th.
