Football Game Preview: Wantagh Warriors vs. Clarke Rams

The Wantagh Warriors will square off against the Clarke Rams at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

On Saturday, Wantagh came up short against Floral Park Memorial and fell 21-14. While the Warriors had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Knights 7-0.

Despite the defeat, Wantagh got top-tier performance from Luke Martini, who rushed for 151 yards while picking up 9.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 40 receiving yards. Martini's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 151 rushing yards.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Clarke against Division on Saturday as the squad secured a 40-6 victory. The Rams' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Clarke didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off 101 passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Wilmer Dubon and Matthew Kurz.

The win made it two in a row for Clarke and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 20 points in those games. As for Wantagh, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
