Football Recap: Crestview Starts Season with Victory Against Western Reserve

Crestview gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 34-0 victory over the Western Reserve Blue Devils. The Rebels' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Jake Noling had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 124 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries, and also threw for 228 yards and one touchdown on only 13 passes. Those 228 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Caidyn Mcelhaney was Noling's top target, picking up 92 receiving yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Crestview was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 217 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 217 rushing yards in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Coming up, Crestview will venture away from home to square off against Lakeview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Western Reserve, they will welcome Trinity at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
