The Bethune Bobcats will challenge the Flagler Panthers at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Bethune made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Kiowa, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bobcats fell just short of the Indians by a score of 47-44 on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (40), the Bobcats still had to take the loss.

08/29/25 @ Weldon Valley | 2 |
Despite the defeat, Bethune got top-tier performance from Ismael Perla, who rushed for 210 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.7 yards per carry, and also caught one score. Thanks to that big game, Perla is now up to 9 rushing touchdowns on the season. Another player making a difference was Angel Millan, who rushed for 65 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Flagler). They blew past Miami-Yoder 62-6 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Panthers with their most commanding win of the season.
Flagler didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Gabe Harvey.
This is the second loss in a row for Bethune and nudges their season record down to 1-3. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only two points. As for Flagler, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Saturday's contest might be decided on the ground. Bethune has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 219 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Flagler struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 196.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Bethune might still be hurting after the 42-19 defeat they got from Flagler in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Will the Bobcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other football content.
