Basketball Game Preview: Hilton Head Prep Dolphins vs. St. Andrew's Lions

Hilton Head Prep is on a eight-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while St. Andrew is on a nine-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. Both will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Friday, Hilton Head Prep humbled Patrick Henry Academy with a 72-40 victory. With the Dolphins ahead 35-15 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Hilton Head Prep better focus on containing Ja'Cari Glover and Zayden Edwards as the pair were huge in St. Andrew's win. Glover went 8 of 9 en route to 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Edwards went 7 for 16 on his way to 17 points along with eight assists and four steals. Glover's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Shaud Singleton, who posted ten points and six boards.

St. Andrew's smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 18 consecutive contests.

St. Andrew's is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Hilton Head Prep, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.
